Echoes Sentiment of Other Providers That ACP Needs to Stay Intact to Meet the Needs of the Underserved
After two years of offering the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and nearly 600 customers taking advantage of it, AireBeam, a leading provider of high-speed fiber Internet services in Arizona, today announced its strong support for the continuation of ACP and is hopeful Congress will re-fund this worthwhile program.
Any disruption of the ACP benefits poses significant challenges to maintaining widespread Internet access across the country for households in need. AireBeam believes that the continuation of ACP is crucial in bridging the digital divide and ensuring that everyone has equitable access to vital online services.
According to AireBeam CEO Ben Elkins, this announcement reflects AireBeam’s commitment to ensuring Internet accessibility remains a priority for communities across Arizona, particularly in underserved areas. It is an effort to join other major ISPs such as Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Cox, and CenturyLink who have gone on record to urge Congress to recognize the critical importance of the ACP.
“Legislative action is necessary to ensure the permanence of this essential program and we are confident that Congress will do the right thing,” Elkins commented. “The ACP has played a pivotal role in providing affordable Internet access, and its sustained existence is vital for the ongoing digital empowerment of communities,” said Elkins, “AireBeam stands in solidarity with its industry peers to advocate for the program’s continuation.”
AireBeam remains dedicated to its mission of delivering high-quality, affordable Internet services and is optimistic about a positive outcome from Congress regarding the ACP’s future, Elkins said.
