Designed to Help Low-Income Families Get Affordable High-Speed Internet
AireBeam, Arizona’s fastest growing fiber to the home and fixed wireless Internet service provider, announced today its support of the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) with the availability of a fast, low-cost Internet service offering for families in need of assistance. The ACP is a federal program that helps low-income families afford the cost of having Internet service at home.
With AireBeam’s ACP service offering, customers can get up to $30 off their monthly Internet, receive up to $75 a month off if a customer’s property is on qualifying tribal lands, and get a one-time discount of $100 for a laptop, tablet or desktop computer with a co-payment of $10-50. AireBeam has no data caps, offers a vacation hold if needed, and, best of all, requires no contract.
“In connection with the Affordable Connectivity Program offered by the federal government, we are working hard to provide Internet service to the under-served communities in Arizona,” said Ben Elkins, CEO of AireBeam. “ACP gives us an avenue to help low-income families get the kind of Internet service needed to exist in today’s communications environment for such things as education, entertainment, telephony and work.”
There are four ways one can qualify for the ACP.
- Based on household income
- Participates in certain assistance programs such as SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or other government funded programs
- Lifetime benefit recipients
- Through a participating Internet provider’s existing low-income program
“We are pleased we can help low-income families have the benefits of high-speed Internet,” Elkins commented. “All Arizonans should have access to the Internet because it is such a big part of quality of life in today’s society.”
The ACP is administered by Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) with oversight from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to give everyone equal access to the Internet. To understand how to qualify, visit www.airebeam.com/acp.
